What’s reasonable will depend on a number of variables, including the kind and amount of information that’s collected, the type of functionality involved, and the potential security risks. But based on input from industry, consumers, academics, and others, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has developed a series of steps for organisations to consider when designing and marketing products that will be connected to the Internet of Things (IoT).
